We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic technically minded furniture designer to join a design-led manufacturer of vanity units, wardrobes and dressing rooms designed for housebuilders, main contractors and developers. With the mark of the FSD, all their wood-based products are from sustainable sources. They have invested heavily in a state-of-the-art biomass plant which recycles all their wood waste and uses it to heat the factory. This means minimal landfill and reduced fossil fuel usage.
Responsibilities include: Designing products and modelling components on AutoCAD; Producing drawings and costings from models; Producing manufacturing data from CAD; Liaising with clients to co-ordinate design / installation including other trades.
The successful candidate will receive full training on Imos and AlphaCAM CAD systems.
With a degree in Furniture Design or related subject you’ll have a good understanding of furniture construction (ideally fitted) and be fluent in AutoCAD. You’ll be able to produce accurate technical drawings (good hand sketching skills would be an advantage) and be a keen and enthusiastic team player. A driving licence and own transport will be needed to get to their offices.
