This family run Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom retailer have three showrooms in the East of England and are seeking an additional Kitchen Designer who is creative, with an aptitude for handling clients and of delivering true kitchen solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end customer experience, from initial design enquiry and concepts, through to completion of sale and installation. Opportunities will be provided via quality leads and home visits will be expected.

With over 25 displays in the showroom and being able to offer a truly “one stop shop” there is plenty of potential to help grow the business and develop a great career with them. The showroom is open Monday to Saturday and there is a generous basic salary and bonus scheme on offer for the successful candidate.

You’ll be highly personable and a great communicator and confident in working in both the showroom and on home visits. With at least 3 years’ experience in kitchens, or similar within the KBB industry you’ll have a strong design ability and design software aptitude (they use Planit Fusion). Lastly, you’ll be self-motivated, proactive and a team player.

This company is one of the UK’s premier designers and producers of contemporary domestic and hotel lighting. With a reputation for innovative designs, high quality manufacture and reliable performance, they have invested heavily in recent years and are based in Essex, near the Hertfordshire borders.

They are currently seeking an individual for a 12 month maternity cover contract to organise their exhibitions, on average about 20-25 per year (varying in size). They have a Junior Exhibition Designer who is responsible for designing the exhibitions, so they are looking for someone to cover the organisational element although if this person has good design and CAD experience then these skills can be utilised within the role.

The role will be varied and can include other aspects dependent on your strengths but will include coordinating the physical exhibition stand, liaising with their factories in China, liaising with marketing team to ensure all documentation is completed and organising graphics and vinyls required.

With experience in exhibition and/or event design, you’ll have strong organisational and 3D CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks or similar). A working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator would be useful as you may be required to support the graphics team with artwork and data sheets. Project management skills are essential.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join this theatrical design and production company and take the lead in running their 14,000 sq. ft. workshop and yard production space. This family-run business produce and deliver a diverse range of sets and props for events, product launches, exhibitions, sampling campaigns and experiential marketing projects with high levels of customer service and quality finishes. Their in-house services include event design and production, project management, spray finishing, sewing and costume, operations, logistics and storage.

As the Workshop Manager you will be responsible for the full end-to-end production build for all projects – taking the lead on production builds from brief through to delivery. With man management experience, you will also oversee a sub-contract production team which can vary in size from 1 to 20, depending on each project. Maintaining and organising the workshop space, woodstore, outside yard and storage containers will also be part of your remit. They also love dogs and have a special dog crèche on site.

Ideally from a theatrical or exhibition background you’ll have experience in the production of a broad range of sets, props joinery and modular units. An understanding of the ever changing demands of high-end brands is essential and knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD / SketchUp) would be an advantage. Strong leadership and the ability to work under pressure is needed and qualifications or experience in health and safety compliance and buildings maintenance would be an added benefit but is not essential. You’ll possess a friendly, respectful and accommodating personality in order to suit the culture of this company.

Skills Required:

  • Good knowledge and experience of Photoshop or similar

  • Experience (medium to expert) of all Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent administrative skills with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Well spoken, smart and professional appearance
  • Good all-rounder, hands-on person
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Minimum of five GSCEs (A to C grades including Maths and English) plus the ability to demonstrate excellent English and Maths skills
  • CAD degree or HND/HNC would be advantageous
  • No experience necessary if an ex-graduate
  • High-end retail experience a bonus
