This professional and versatile fit out and bespoke furniture company is based near London on the Hertfordshire and Essex borders and serves the commercial and residential sectors producing kitchens, wardrobes, vanity units, cabinets, TV units, beds, desks and doors. They are looking for a Designer with the right experience to carry out site surveys on construction sites and create designs and working drawings for their clients’ furniture in AutoCAD.

With 5+ years’ experience of using AutoCAD you’ll have past experience in designing kitchens, wardrobes, vanity units, cabinets, desks and other furniture items. You’ll be strong creatively, have good planning and organising skills together with excellent customer service skills. Experience of working with commercial / trade companies plus the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the workplace will be required. You’ll also need a driving licence.

In return they are offering a salary of between £25k and £30k, plus contribution to pension scheme, 24 days holiday, rising to 26 days after five years and team incentives and outings. They provide a range of services from exhibition stands, product launches and bespoke sampling stands to PR stunts, sampling bins and giant props and are theatrical in their approach. They even have a room / crèche dedicated to the staff’s dogs so they can bring them to work!

Based at their offices close to the borders of Essex and Hertfordshire, the Project Manager will be working as part of small Project Management team and the position would suit a candidate who wants to contribute to a growing enterprise and be part of a fun, family-led, often fast-paced production company. You will gain fast, hands-on experience quickly moving to handling smaller and then larger projects working directly with new and existing clients.

With ideally a background from a theatre based course you’ll have experience in Project / Production Management, Stage Management, Event Management and/or Technical Theatre. Project Management skills including working with a production workshop will be needed and you’ll be able to manage and realise projects from costings for budgets through to installation. You must be able to effectively liaise with and manage clients and their expectations and possess the ability to maintain a high level of quality control along with a cost effective, best practice and ecological approach. A full clean driving licence will be needed.

This opportunity is best suited to someone who is towards the start of their career, has a passion for design and creativity and is keen to learn on the job, drawing from the experience of experienced designers, whilst working alongside and supporting them.

You’ll have studied 3D/spatial design, product or furniture design and have at least 2 years’ commercial experience (experiential, branded environments, retail, events or museum design). CAD and visualisation software skills along with Adobe Creative Suite skills are essential, but full training will be given on the specific software packages that they use (3DS Max and AutoCAD). You should be able to demonstrate sound design thinking and have experience in following the creative process to transform briefs into ideas and solutions. Exposure to spatial, event and exhibition design would be a distinct advantage, but is not essential.

Based near the borders of Essex and Hertfordshire they are now seeking an individual to manage the production of projects and oversee company operations. This is a pivotal hands-on role managing a hardworking and committed production team.

Candidates would ideally come from a proven theatrical or exhibition background and have experience in production management of a broad range of sets, props and modular units, from conception through to execution. Working with an adaptable, flexible, accommodating attitude is a must and understanding the ever-changing demands of high-end brands is essential.

The right candidate should be able to demonstrate experience in exacting manufacturing projects and supervising and motivating a team of workers. You’ll be experienced in the planning and executing of projects based around strict budgets and deadlines. As well as having the ability to deliver reports on scheduling and costs, you’ll be familiar with the monitoring of product standards and implementation of quality-control programmes. You’ll need good computer skills around MS office plus excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join this theatrical design and production company and take the lead in running their 14,000 sq. ft. workshop and yard production space. This family-run business produce and deliver a diverse range of sets and props for events, product launches, exhibitions, sampling campaigns and experiential marketing projects with high levels of customer service and quality finishes. Their in-house services include event design and production, project management, spray finishing, sewing and costume, operations, logistics and storage.

As the Workshop Manager you will be responsible for the full end-to-end production build for all projects – taking the lead on production builds from brief through to delivery. With man management experience, you will also oversee a sub-contract production team which can vary in size from 1 to 20, depending on each project. Maintaining and organising the workshop space, woodstore, outside yard and storage containers will also be part of your remit. They also love dogs and have a special dog crèche on site.

Ideally from a theatrical or exhibition background you’ll have experience in the production of a broad range of sets, props joinery and modular units. An understanding of the ever changing demands of high-end brands is essential and knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD / SketchUp) would be an advantage. Strong leadership and the ability to work under pressure is needed and qualifications or experience in health and safety compliance and buildings maintenance would be an added benefit but is not essential. You’ll possess a friendly, respectful and accommodating personality in order to suit the culture of this company.
