This British based furniture and lighting design company has its own workshop with highly skilled craftspeople. Along with selling to high net worth individuals they partner with interior designers, architects and other luxury retail companies, creating unique lighting and furniture. Every piece is made to order and they offer a bespoke service for one off projects.
They are now looking for a mid-weight CAD furniture and product designer. The role offers diverse design opportunities from private commissions and limited editions to product collaborations and production furniture within the brand. This permanent role is to start ideally in January 2017. They are however also in need of some short term help so would like to see any designers who are able to start work at short notice on a temporary basis.
With a degree in Design and experience of creating production drawings for the workshop you’ll be proficient in AutoCAD and Rhino along with the Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of furniture making and manufacturing processes will be required along with strong attention to detail and an appreciation of design aesthetics. Additionally, knowledge of metalworking processes and materials for the production of lighting products and furniture will be needed. You’ll also be able to demonstrate initiative and proactively present ideas and suggestions to problems so fluent spoken and written English, with excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.
