This world renowned gallery of original and unique sculptural furniture and products showcases the work of designers who are both prominent and new to the industry. Based centrally in London they have a production and technical design studio on site and are seeking an experienced individual with strong knowledge of furniture construction. You will be working as part of a small team who are all committed to using the finest materials and creating individual pieces to the exacting requirements required by their clients.
They are seeking a Production Manager who understands what is required to work at this level of the industry and is forward thinking and very proactive. A large part of the job is dealing with people and resource management, you may also be involved with furniture design and purchasing.
Key Responsibilities for the Production Manager include to: Oversee the design and production of gallery pieces from concept stage through to manufacture including material and component specifications, production of prototypes and drawings; Plan and draw up a production schedule, monitor the production processes and set and control the quality standards; Manage supplier relationships such as budgets, negotiating costs, sourcing and contacting suppliers; Liaise with different departments, teams and companies, e.g. suppliers, managers, clients.
You’ll be knowledgeable of the fabrication of luxury sculptural / artistic furniture and products, have strong planning and organisation skills and the capacity to grasp complex design and production concepts easily. An understanding of various software and CAD programmes will be needed alongside attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality. You’ll possess strong negotiation skills for getting materials within budget at the right time plus leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to meet deadlines.
Salary is £40,000 to £50,000 (negotiable) plus benefits and pension.
