This Interior Design practice specialises in the interior design of luxury residential property in the UK and abroad and is looking to recruit a skilled AutoCAD Technician / Visualiser to join their team. The role will be to assist the team with luxury high-end residential projects, by preparing detailed drawing packages in AutoCAD and creating visuals and presentation sketches. It is very much a technical job rather than handling the FF&E elements and is a pivotal key role within the company.

Fluent and highly proficient in AutoCAD, with good hand-drawing and visualisation skills you’ll have a minimum of four years’ technical drawing experience on high-end interior design projects. Fluent in SketchUp and Photoshop you’ll need in-depth knowledge of design detailing and specifications and a good eye for composition, materials and colour. Proven time-management skills and highly organised working methods will be required as will good social and presentation skills. As an Associate you are required to assume ownership, responsibility and accountability for the FF&E teams and professional competence of the Design Department projects.   1. The day-to-day responsibilities for this role will be to work on drawing up all the current designs onto SolidWorks and ensure documents are maintained and kept up to date. You will also be working with the sales team to provide technical solutions to their custom and bespoke orders. This role would really suit someone who also wants to expand on their skills into furniture manufacture.

With a minimum 3-5 years’ professional experience (some worked in a lighting manufacturing environment) you’ll be proficient in SolidWorks, Photoshop, SketchUp, Excel and Microsoft Office in general. You’ll need experience of both mechanical and electrical engineering and be capable of working under your own initiative. You’ll have an understanding of a wide variety of manufacturing methods and processes together with a familiarity with the complete design process including scale, proportion and ergonomics. Immaculate attention to detail will be needed along with the ability to multitask and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A current driving licence would be an advantage as would a technical and commercial understanding of furniture construction.
