This established brand is currently looking for a talented Product / Industrial Designer to make an impact on functional NPD products such as storage, garden and pet and to come on-board as Maternity Cover for a minimum of a year. The role could either be based in their design studio in Nottinghamshire or in London. You will be responsible for the delivery of commercial product ranges that are derived from customer needs.

The right candidate must be able to deliver both innovative and functional products, utilising their extensive knowledge of manufacturing to ensure product concepts can be realised and brought to market in a timely and cost effective manner. There will be travel expected throughout the UK and abroad, with trips to the Far East for on occasion

With an Industrial or Product Design Degree plus 5 years’ experience with a product brand or in the retail industry, you’ll have the ability to research and translate trends information effectively. You’ll have excellent design skills, demonstrating an innovative approach to problem solving and be able to create sketches and renderings to work through ideation phase and concepts that can be communicated to others. SolidWorks, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign will be needed and you’ll need to be able to create samples to help demonstrate the concept, using 3D printing or making Marquettes. You’ll be able to reverse engineer to assist with the understanding of how products are manufactured or perform as well as having a detailed understanding of the substrates you are designing for and in particular for mass-producing plastics.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 3D Decorative Designer to join this well-established brand that keeps a close eye on seasonal trends and are excited about the new products and designs that are planned across a variety of categories. They have a design studio in both their Nottinghamshire and London offices so the successfully candidate could work in either.

The successful applicant will be innovative and able to think 3 Dimensionally with a focus for driving the design and development of new Home & Garden decorative products. You will be responsible for understanding and developing range content that creates a unique own brand range for the customer of volume driving differentiated product. There will be some travel expected throughout the UK, Europe and the Far East visiting suppliers and exhibitions. They are also considering recruiting a Junior Designer who will be assisting the 3D Decorative Designers.

The role also involves: Presenting trend research and market analysis to the wider teams; Creating original designs that can be utilised across a wide range of product categories; Close management of project deadlines, ensuring projects are delivered to critical path dates; Managing Junior level designers; Fostering links with design Degree course leaders to continue the development of the graduate recruitment scheme.

With 5+ years’ relevant experience plus a furniture, lighting, ceramics or craft degree, you’ll need the ability to research and translate trend information effectively. Excellent drawing skills for illustration creation, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills plus the ability to create detailed CAD manufacturing drawings will be required. You must have detailed understanding of substrates and manufacturing capabilities and proven experience in developing profitable product ranges across categories for each season. You’ll also possess strong written and spoken communication skills plus a commercial awareness, with a good understanding of financials.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated talented Surface Pattern & Print Design Manager who wants to make an impact on a variety of product categories, and see their influence shape the future of a well-established brand. This is a key strategic role, the post holder must be capable of challenging, influencing, effectively managing relationships and leading and inspiring a team.

You will be responsible for the delivery of commercial trends that bring continuity across the look and feel of categories across the store, and using those trends to design product ranges across the brand. Categories include: Home Decorations & Textiles, Wallpaper, Garden Decorations, Kitchen, Stationery, Storage, Christmas and seasonal events. Other responsibilities include the managing of both the SPP team and the 3D decoration design team, building strong relationships with key stakeholders across retail to ensure successful delivery of ranges and assisting the Design Director with setting the strategic objectives and delivering to the BP plan, whilst managing budgets.

You’ll need a relevant design degree and at least 10 years’ proven experience developing profitable product ranges covering multiple categories and have a good financial understanding of the retail sector. You’ll have a strong knowledge of the trend industry and the ability to translate information from Macro to Micro plus excellent design skills demonstrating a creative approach. Proficient at using industry design software (AVA, Adobe) you’ll possess the ability to present product ranges and concepts to cross-functional stakeholders. Together with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team of design professionals, you’ll have excellent planning and organisation skills and be an assertive and confident decision maker with good project management skills.

International travel will be expected across the year. Supplier visits to the Far East as well as exhibitions across UK and EU.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a flourishing Nottingham based company specialising in the design, manufacture and retail of furniture, lighting and interior accessories. The company is offering a new interior design service throughout the UK – working directly with developers and builders to create show homes and furnish investment / rental units and are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join the team and be responsible for this service.

This role requires an experienced, confident professional to design and dress interiors, manage clients and projects and seek new business opportunities. Additional duties may include the design and upkeep of the showroom(s) and planning, managing and styling photoshoots.

The ideal candidate will be university qualified with an art or design related degree. Professional Interior design experience is essential, preferably from a show home background. Excellent organisation, written and spoken English, numeracy, computer and customer facing skills are also required. Freelance / Part Time or Permanent work, depending on the applicant, can be offered. Computer skills must include competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. CAD and 3D modelling skills are desirable but not essential.
