As one of the UK’s leading provider of outdoor play equipment, this company also design commercial outdoor furniture, shade & shelter products and play accessories. They are currently seeking a designer to design products and outdoor schemes for pubs, restaurants, leisure, hotel and hospitality chains, along with some smaller independent, up-and-coming and iconic establishments.

You will be working from conception, through development, to manufacture and installation. No two days are the same and the right candidate will appreciate the variety of the work and challenges within the role and relish answering problems with creative solutions.

Responsibilities also include: Preparing proposals and presentations; Supporting the sales and marketing departments with accurate advice and assistance; Creating clear part, assembly and installation drawings, layouts and instructions; Identifying, innovating and developing new products to enhance and complement the existing range; Researching new materials and finishes.

With a great attitude, drive and passion for design you’ll have excellent verbal and visual communication skills plus 3D visualisation and modelling software skills (Autodesk 3DS Max and Inventor, or similar). 2D layout software skill (AutoCAD, or similar) will be needed alongside graphic design software skills (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop). You’ll be educated in product design or a related discipline to degree level and a practical ability with wood working tools and machinery for prototyping would be an advantage.
