|Title||Product / Furniture Design Engineer, London|
|Salary||£30,000 to £32,000 plus pension|
This company designs and makes bespoke furniture, upholstery, lighting, fabrics, wallpapers and interior necessities that add a joyful atmosphere to any interior. Their products can be found in many private houses, chalets and yachts around the world as well as hotels, restaurants, members clubs, boardrooms and retail spaces. Often featured in the design press, every design is made in Britain in small workshops that excel in traditional crafts, such as iron forging, rattan weaving, chair making, precision engineering and saddlery.
You’ll have a passion for traditional design and will be using your technical knowledge to assist in the development of new and existing designs. This role would really suit someone who wants to expand their skill set into furniture manufacture as you’ll be designing and testing furniture prototypes plus identifying and selecting materials needed for production.
You’ll have 3-5 years of SolidWorks experience including within the furniture industry plus an understanding of a wide variety of manufacturing methods and processes. You must be able to demonstrate familiarity with the complete design process including scale, proportion and ergonomics. A passion and desire for furniture design and development (rather than creative product design) will be needed alongside the ability to present information and speak to suppliers / internal customers where necessary. Experience within a lighting manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
Salary is £30,000 to £32,000 plus pension. If this job opening sounds of interest please contact Pippa Baker on 01920 486125 for further details, or simply forward your application and CV / portfolio to firstname.lastname@example.org.
