They have a new role that requires both a creative and organised mind to put together Concept Packages. These comprise of floor plans and layouts which are then colour washed to give depth and visual impact, material palette and mood boards, furniture drawings, equipment lists and a budget. It will also need historical research into furniture and joinery for the period of the building. This role will be a developing one and will allow the individual to take on further responsibilities as it progresses.

With a background in furniture, interior design or an arts degree you’ll need a creative and enquiring mind plus strong hand-drawing and illustrative skills. You’ll possess sensitivity to architecture and period properties as well as being commercially minded, numerate, organised and happy doing the admin as well.

Everything they design is completely bespoke, and their 12,000 sq. ft. modern workshop houses a dedicated team of cabinet-makers and finishers.

They are now seeking a Project Designer to work from the concept sign off, producing technical drawings, 2D AutoCAD plans and elevations, specifications and production drawings before handing over to the workshop and overseeing through to installation and completion. You will be engaging with the client at all stages and offering advice and design knowledge throughout the duration of each project.

As a proficient AutoCAD 2D user with knowledge of 3D packages (they use Inventor and can provide in-house training) you’ll be able to demonstrate a flair for creative solutions to design conundrums. Excellent attention to detail will be needed as will thoroughness in the design and delivery of projects. You’ll have a good understanding of furniture and period joinery detailing with knowledge of period architectural styles and building techniques an advantage. You’ll also possess an understanding of kitchen appliances and sanitary ware along with the services required to connect them to fitted furniture, kitchens and bathrooms. Lastly, excellent written and spoken English will be needed.

As an Interior Designer your main remit will be to design, procure, specify and deliver furniture, furnishings, lighting and interior products to budget and specification. They are seeking a designer to join their hotel and private client team but all designers will cross over and work with the other teams on their projects from time-to-time which adds variety to their work.

Commercially aware with sufficient numeracy skills to understand budget aspects, costings, margins and pricing, you’ll be able to demonstrate an understanding of current trends in design within the hotel sector. Previous experience of EstiPC would be an advantage.

You’ll be confident and assertive when presenting or communicating with clients, hence the use of English to a standard that enables effective verbal and written communication with clients and others will be needed. You’ll also possess a clean UK driving licence.
