This design-led manufacturer provides bespoke furniture solutions including stadiums, offices, courtrooms, hotels and restaurants. As Design Team Leader / Design Manager you will be managing a team of 10 designers based in the Yorkshire office, and 2 based in their Edinburgh office. Working closely with the Design Office Manager and the Project Director you and your team will be delivering a wide variety of bespoke design-led projects. You should be willing to travel, visiting the Scottish office and possible future additional remote design offices across the UK.
You’ll be self-motivated, driven, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about bespoke joinery, technical design and the manufacturing processes with a good balance of technical and creative thinking. Strong people-management skills will be needed in order to develop, drive and empower the design team members to improve and progress within the company. You’ll have experience in procurement of materials and designing to a fixed budget. Strong time-management skills together with experience in juggling and planning workloads will be a requirement as well as having strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary will be in the range of £40,000 to £45,000 plus company pension, Christmas bonus scheme and hamper plus a summer BBQ and Christmas party!
